AN INTERVIEW SERIES - In honour of this Mothers’ Day, we’re interviewing the Super Mums behind Pure Zone’s family-focused eco friendly Bedlinen, Bath & Home products. This week in our 4-part series, we get to know Pure Zone Director and General Business All-Rounder and Mum of 3, Lynne.
Hi Lynne, can you tell us a little bit about yourself, we’ve heard there are a few grandchildren to keep you busy?
I’ve always been a working Mum with 3 girls and now 7 grandchildren to love and spoil. At Pure Zone I’m probably the office and warehouse jack-of-all-trades. Some may say that’s a polite way of saying “major interferer”.
Having as much experience as a Mum in the workplace and now having watched your own children do the same, what would you say is the biggest challenge faced by Mothers in the workplace?
The biggest challenge by far would be juggling. Juggling the time to do everything that a busy, growing family requires as well as dedicating my utmost to my place of work at the same time.
We get it! And on the other side - what do you find to be the most rewarding?
My parents taught me that if a job’s worth doing, it’s worth doing properly. I take pride in seeing my efforts rewarded by success.
How do you deal with “Mum guilt” at home?
I tend to overcompensate by probably doing more than is necessary to make sure everything’s organised properly – dotting the “i’s” and crossing the “t’s”.
Do you have any advice to our readers for balancing home and work life?
Take circus lessons early and learn how to juggle!
What do you appreciate now more than ever of what your mum did for you growing up?
Endless amounts of love and support. Always being the rock that was always there for me.
How do you prioritise self care?
I probably don’t. My priorities are my family.
What do you love about working for Pure Zone?
Pure Zone is one big family. We all work really well together and we have done so for a long time. We know each other well and enjoy helping out wherever is needed. Working with our beautiful products is pretty special too of course.
Can you tell us your favourite product from the Pure Zone range and why?
Oh I think this is an impossible question to answer.
