100% Plant & Vegetable Based Dyes

Our new collection is naturally dyed from the distillations and natural tannins found in Pomegranate Peel, Chestnuts, Chinese Gallnuts and True Indigo Plant Leaves. These plants have been used for hundreds and hundreds of generations, with records of True Indigo textiles dating back over 4,000 years to India and Ancient Egypt.

Naturally antimicrobial, antifungal and dust mite inhibitant, the powerful properties of our plant-based dyes remain in the fabric even after 50 washes.

Back To Our Roots

With this new launch, our Founders look back to Pure Zone's very first range of vegetable-dyed bedlinen, which was photographed at their family home. The team still has the press clippings in the office, reminding us to be proud of our long heritage producing natural plant-dyed home products.

You can read the full story on our Archive Collection in the blog.

As a small Australian family business, we pioneered 100% natural vegetable dyes in 1985. Selling our first vegetable dyed collection on the shelves of New York City's famous Barneys Department Store. Forty years later and we are still dedicated to bringing our customers the finest low-tox, sustainable bedlinens.

Woven With Organic Silk Thread

To achieve the colours in this collection, the finest Pure Silk thread has been naturally coloured with the Plant-Derived Dyes using a 100% chemical-free dyeing process.

A Soft Textured Grain

The Plant-Dyed Silk is then woven into our Certified Organic Bamboo Fibre to achieve the final fabric. With the colour threaded through neutral bamboo, the finish is a stunning yet natural shade, gifted from nature.

The Plant-Dyed Collection in Certified Organic Bamboo & Silk is available in four beautiful hues, in matching Sheet Sets and Quilt Cover Sets.
