From unconditional love to learning the art of rest, we asked the mums of Pure Zone to share what motherhood has taught them and how their homes (and sleep spaces) have transformed along the way. Motherhood is a masterclass in patience, perspective, and unexpected joys. It can teach us to slow down, to cherish small moments, and, sometimes, to surrender to the chaos. This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating the women behind Pure Zone by sharing their reflections on what being a mum (and in some cases, a grandmother) has meant to them.
It’s a story about family, but also about finding comfort in the everyday, whether that’s a warm hug, a bedtime routine, or the bliss of slipping into freshly made bedlinen at the end of a long day. Here’s what the incredible mums on our team had to say…
Motherhood can be surprising in the most beautiful ways, bringing out sides of ourselves we didn’t even know were there. Unconditional love is a theme that comes up again and again. Sharon, our Office Manager (and now a grandmother), shares that motherhood taught her a depth of love and patience she never expected. For Lisa, our Brand Manager, it’s how deeply her children inspire her to be the best version of herself, knowing their little eyes are always watching. And for Gem, our Online Customer Service Manager, the surprise came in discovering how much she learns from her kids, just as they learn from her.
Rest might look different in every household, but the small moments we carve out for ourselves matter deeply. The idea of “rest” shifts once you become a mum.
For Lisa, rest is rare but no longer something she resents, she’s embraced it as part of this chapter. Her moments of calm might include lighting a candle while cooking, a short walk with her pup (and kids in tow), or winding down with yoga and soft music before bed.
Sharon, now enjoying a quieter house, treasures curling up with a book. But she fondly remembers stealing away for an annual girls’ weekend when her children were young, “me time” looked different then, but it was no less sacred.
And Gem? She jokes that rest is a foreign concept, but reading at night or listening to rain sounds helps soothe her active mind.
We all agree that soft lighting, calm corners, and deeply comfortable bedlinen can help turn even 15 minutes of rest into a meaningful mini retreat at home.
Motherhood reshapes our priorities and often, our spaces too. Bedrooms become more than just places to sleep, they become havens.
For Sharon, it’s all about creating a space where family can feel safe, rested, and listened to. Lisa says she’s learned to embrace a little more mess and a lot more comfort, prioritising textures and layering over strict minimalism. And Gem; sees the bedroom as a deeply personal space, a reflection of who we are, and a sanctuary at the end of a busy day.
From cosy Bamboo bedlinen to naturally soft throws, creating a calm and nurturing environment is part of how we show love, both to our children and ourselves.
Every mum deserves a moment to slow down and reset — whatever that looks like for you. Maybe it’s a quiet cup of tea, a good book, or five peaceful minutes before the evening rush.
For Gem, it’s tucking in her kids, sharing stories, and sealing the day with a kiss. For Lisa, it’s her skincare routine followed by quiet reading time in bed, wrapped in her favourite Pure Zone sheets, of course. Sharon loves to wind down with her knitting, a cup of tea, and the company of her dog, pure comfort.
It’s often in the stillness after the bedtime stories, the dishes are done, and the lights are low, that gratitude has room to rise. Maybe it’s in the glow of a bedside lamp, the soft weight of a Quilt, or the quiet comfort of slipping between fresh Sheets. In those little pauses, what do you find yourself most thankful for? For Sharon, it’s the joy of her grandchildren running into her arms. For Gem, it’s the quiet pride in simply being a mum. And for Lisa, it’s health, family, and all the small, often unnoticed comforts that make life feel full and wholesome.
This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating not just mums, but the quiet strength, deep love, and everyday beauty they bring to the world. We hope their reflections remind you to embrace the calm where you can, and to cherish the little luxuries of home, rest, and connection.
To all the mothers (and mother figures) in our Pure Zone community - thank you. We see you. And we hope you get to sleep in, just a little, this weekend.
