The flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping and the days are getting longer - Spring is here and we are ready for it! After the Winter it feels so good to be able to open up all the doors and windows to let that fresh air in and it’s the perfect time to give your home a little glow-up. You might also be feeling that urge to “Spring clean” and what better place to start than one of the most used (and usually most underrated) rooms of the house - the bathroom! Here are 5 easy ways to keep your bathroom feeling fresh long into the Summer months.
Start by clearing out the space and giving your bathroom a thorough deep clean. Don’t forget places like the exhaust fans which can get clogged up with dust and mildew. Avoid harsh chemicals by making up a spray bottle of baking soda and white vinegar, you can also add a few drops of essential oils like lemon and eucalyptus. It’s gentler on your bath, sink and hardware and you won’t be breathing in conventional cleaning chemicals.
TIP: Throw on a banging 90’s Spotify list while you scrub - you’ll be amazed how much easier cleaning is with a little Madonna in your ears.
Nothing says Spring clean like decluttering the bathroom drawers and cupboards - if you dare! While you’ve got the bathroom cleared out to clean it, it’s the perfect time to go through it all and “Marie Kondo” it baby. If you’re like us, your bathroom has probably accumulated lots of products or items from other rooms of the home too (thanks kids). Throw away empties and make a pile of items you no longer need to donate or store away.
There’s nothing better than the feel of fluffy, freshly laundered towels. Are you a one use or once a week towel washer? We’re not here to judge either way, the experts say washing after 3-4 uses is the happy medium. If your bath, hand towels and floor mats are looking a little worse for wear, now is the perfect time to replace them.

Plants in Spring are a no-brainer. Not only do they look lovely, but they’ll clean the air and revitalize your bathroom. Look for a plant that likes low light and doesn’t mind humidity. If you’ve already filled your bathroom with greenery, give them a gentle clean and wipe over - it will make them happier and your bathroom brighter.
TIP: Some great indoor plant options are philodendron, pothos, peace lily, snake plants, and spider plants.
