AN INTERVIEW SERIES - In honour of this Mothers’ Day, we’re interviewing the Super Mums behind Pure Zone’s family-focused eco friendly Bedlinen, Bath & Home products. This week in our 4-part series, we get to know Pure Zone Customer Service Guru and Mum of 3, Gem.

Hi Gem! Can you tell our beautiful readers a little bit about yourself?

My name is Gem and I'm a Mum of 3. I've been with the Pure Zone family for just over 10 years and my main role is to provide the best customer service I can. I love to be the main point of contact for any help, queries, advice or recommendations our lovely customers may require.

Let’s get straight into it…As a Mum who also works outside the home, what do you find the most challenging?  

I would say the logistics of making the school day fit around work. Having time restrictions of the day and balancing everything sure can be a little crazy at times but us mums do always manage to pull out the Super-Mum powers don't we? 😁

Yes we do! On the flip side - what do you find the most rewarding? 

I love being a working mum. I enjoy having my work as something for me, able to do a job I love that gives me so much satisfaction and working with fantastic colleagues. I'm lucky to be able to drop and pick up my kids from school and attend their special events at school and this is only made possible by the understanding and flexibility of my wonderful workplace. 

Do you have any advice for balancing home and work life and how do you deal with “Mum guilt”?

If you can find a workplace that is understanding and supportive to you as a working Mum and know that there will be times your children are sick and need you home or a special event at school that you want to attend then that for me is a huge benefit. In return, I would advise putting every effort into your job and taking pride so that there is mutual respect between you and your workplace. 

I ensure that I tell my kids everyday that I love them and always have time for cuddles and stories with them. We make sure we each talk about our day as a family at the dinner table and that they know the reason why people work and the value in working.  

How do you prioritise self care?

Once the kids are fed, bathed and in bed, I often like to sit down and chat to my husband, watch something on Netflix and then either listen to a chapter on an audio book to help me unwind from the day.

What do you appreciate now more than ever about your Mum?

My parents really instilled the importance of good manners, work ethic and the value of working hard to achieve what you want in life. I respect how much they worked in order to give my brother and myself a wonderful childhood but for also always being there for us for advice, comfort and love, something I am truly grateful for.

You’ve been with Pure Zone for 10 years! What makes it such a special place to work?

I absolutely love working for Pure Zone for my love of our beautiful products, my wonderful colleagues, seeing the business change and grow over the years and honestly feeling like I'm part of a family.
