Why We Oversize Our Bamboo Bedding!

Why We Oversize Our Bamboo Bedding!

by Lisa Levi November 24, 2022

If you’ve purchased our best selling 100% Organic Bamboo Sheet Sets, chances are you’ve already fallen in love with them! Not only are they super soft and luxurious, but they’re also thermo-regulating, antibacterial, hypoallergenic and environmentally friendly, meaning you can feel good about using them.

You might have noticed that the sizing of our Bamboo bedding is slightly oversized when you first purchase them.

HERE'S WHY...

Did you know that Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants on the planet and doesn’t require pesticides to grow? This makes it a beautifully sustainable choice for bedding. Our 100% Organic Bamboo fabrication has the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Certification meaning that the fabric is independently tested to ensure it doesn’t contain harmful chemicals or substances.

We’ve worked really hard to create our 100% Organic Bamboo fabrication used in our bedding. By not blending the Bamboo with any other fabric, it ensures the user receives the maximum health benefits - being extremely kind to sensitive skin, naturally hypoallergenic, antibacterial and antimicrobial.

Similarly to other natural fabrics like Silk, Cotton and Tencel, Bamboo’s natural fabrication will naturally contract and relax when exposed to heat during washing and drying. It’s these changes in temperature that create movement. So while your bedding may seem slightly oversized at first, this adjustment process will settle down after a few washes into the perfect fit.

We have designed and manufactured our 100% Organic Bamboo Sheet Sets 5% oversized to allow for this natural adjustment.

CARING FOR YOUR 100% BAMBOO BEDDING

Even though our oversize allows for this adjustment of the natural fabrication, looking after your Bamboo bedding by using the right care and washing instructions, will ensure they last you for years to come. Hot temperatures are what will cause the most movement in the fabric which is why we recommend washing Bamboo bedding in cold water. Our complete Product Care guide can be found here

An added bonus of our oversized design feature is that it also allows extra room for those who may have extra deep mattresses, additional pillow toppers or thicker quilts on their beds seasonally. After all, we all know there’s nothing worse than trying to stretch that tightly fitted sheet over the top of your mattress topper.

We’ve put a lot of thought and consideration into the design of our 100% Organic Bamboo Sheet Sets to bring you the best quality product and give you the best night’s sleep possible.
